Position Summary

This position is responsible for sales, program development, and successful implementation of Center for Workforce Development (CWD) training programs.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Sells classes to area businesses bymaintainingfruitful relationships with clients; addressing client needs effectively; researching andidentifyingnew market opportunities; and preparing and delivering pitches to potential clients.

  • Activelyseeksand develops new training account opportunities by calling new customers, obtaining orders,planningand organizingdailywork schedule to call on new potential clients/customers, resulting insubmittedproposals.

  • Services existing accounts,obtainsorders,establishesnew training agreements, and develops responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) for training needs.

  • Developsnew programsand certifications that support workforce development needs of employers and employees.

  • Devotesa majority ofwork time to supervisory duties; Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other employees; Makes recommendations to hire, promote, and discipline direct reports; Conducts annual performance reviews of all direct reports

  • Achievesmonthly and annualproposal,enrollmentand revenue goals by integrating marketing, operations, and financial knowledge.

  • Overseesthe research, analysis and recommendations for new business opportunities and new training sales options with a keen awareness of organizational growth initiatives related to regional markets and target customer segments, as well as CWD's potential to meet customer needs.

  • Develops and implements plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities for workforce development classes including both existing customer relationships and new markets.

  • Maintains currency with workforce development initiativesin order torecommend new training programs and services, including local trends and organizations, workforce certification and credentials, current innovations, labor market demands, current research, national trends, continuing education professionaldevelopmentand competition.

  • Schedules client-driven classes, assigns instructors, and coordinatesadditionallogisticswith the Operations Team to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Collects and analyzesinformation and preparesdata and sales reports,leveragingreal data and capitalizing on business trends and opportunities.

  • Representsthe college to students, outside agencies, and community partners and colleges, including departmental Advisory Committees,demonstratingcultural competency, diversity, and inclusivity.

  • Recruits and interviews potential instructors and, in coordination with other staff, schedules classes and assigns instructors.

  • Monitorsandreviewsinstructor performance through evaluations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  • Extensive experience in inbound/outbound sales.

  • Extensive experience planning,schedulingand coordinating multiple programs, events, and activities.

  • Skill in the development,contentand delivery of training.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate effectively with outside organizations, staff, and professional training group members.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Exceptional analytic skills/ability to solve complex problems.

  • Ability to evaluate technical information.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, criticalthinkingand communication skills.

  • Knowledge of marketing and communication processes associated with website and online marketing campaigns, including knowledge of web analytics, search engine optimization, and social media technologies.

  • Knowledge of computer programs and databases related to educational applications, with advanced computer and software skills.

  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for conducting needs assessment.

  • Skills in small group facilitation and ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs, including Microsoft Office.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

Thesupervisorassigns work in termsof department goals andobjectives.The supervisor spot-checks completed work for the nature and propriety of the final results.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

This positionsupervises the Workforce LearningSpecialist andadjunct instructors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in sales in a college, university or corporate environment.
  • Master's degree and/or higher education and/or workforce development experience preferred.
