Job description

Role: Workato Lead Developer
Type: FT
Location: Toronto, Canada
Role Overview:

We are looking for a Workato Lead Developer with strong expertise in iPaaS integrations, EDI, and enterprise application integrations. This role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to design, build, and optimize scalable integration solutions while driving best practices across the integration landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of integration solutions using Workato
  • Build and manage end-to-end Workato recipes including data mapping, transformation, testing, and production rollout
  • Design and implement EDI solutions using standard protocols and formats (X12, EDIFACT, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain integrations across enterprise applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable integration solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and data flow issues
  • Ensure adherence to integration best practices, performance optimization, and governance standards
  • Support pre-sales activities including solution design, effort estimation, and client discussions
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on progress, risks, and timelines

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in integration development with a strong focus on iPaaS platforms (Workato preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Workato including recipe development, API integrations, and automation workflows
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and integration protocols (AS2, SFTP, etc.)
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Oracle EBS, and SAP
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns and architecture (real-time, batch, event-driven)
  • Proficiency in REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, and scripting (JavaScript or Groovy)
  • Experience working with ERP systems and business process integrations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong client-facing experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Workato Certification (required or strongly preferred)
  • Experience with Boomi or other iPaaS platforms
  • Prior experience in leading integration teams or projects
  • Willingness to support pre-sales and solutioning activities
