Pet Care Club of Rhode Island is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers to serve clients in Portsmouth, East Greenwich, Riverside, and Providence.


We are a locally owned and independently operated pet care company, proudly offering personalized, professional, and compassionate care to pets and their families across Rhode Island. We’re unlike other pet care companies-we prioritize our employees. Our Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers are paid on time and competitively, often making up to $26.00 hourly. We’re looking for professionals who are serious about the job. We have fun and we take our responsibility to our pets and families seriously. We work with animals of all sizes, including large, strong canines that may pull, react unexpectedly, or be leash-restrictive. Our Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers must have experience maintaining control of animals in outdoor and indoor spaces for extended periods, in addition to a reasonable level of comfort around untrained and larger breeds.

As a member of our team, you'll provide in-home pet care services such as dog walking and pet sitting for all types of animals, including puppy care, pet transportation, and administering pet medications. We're seeking trustworthy, friendly, and dependable individuals who are committed to the safety and well-being of pets in their care.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Walk dogs as scheduled
  • Ensure physical safety of pets at all times
  • Care for and play with pets
  • Provide them with food, water, and medication if necessary
  • Follow any special instructions or limitations pet owners provide
  • Observe pets’ behavior, report any concerning issues to clients
  • Follow safety protocols according to training
  • Dispose of animal waste
  • Assess situations accurately, calmly, and be able to respond quickly

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Live in or near our service areas of Portsmouth, East Greenwich, Riverside, and Providence
  • Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Must have smartphone (for scheduling, updates, and communication)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • Comfortable walking dogs of all sizes and breeds in all weather conditions
  • Experience with untrained dogs/animals
  • Comfortable with large dogs/animals
  • Strong sense of responsibility and genuine love for animals
  • Willingness to participate in occasional promotional or community events
  • Able to be on your feet multiple times per day
  • Capable of handling leashes and managing dogs of all sizes confidently
  • Good observation skills (able to monitor pets and surroundings from up to 150 feet)
  • Ability to stay calm and respond quickly in unexpected situations
  • Experience in vet tech, shelter work, or pet-related volunteer roles
  • Willingness to complete company-provided training
  • Committed to animal safety and well-being
  • Availability during peak hours: 10 AM – 2 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Weekend and holiday availability is important (these are our busiest times)
  • Willingness to travel between client locations
  • Customer service background is a bonus
