General Description
The University of Montevallo's Department of Social Work and Speech Pathology housed within the College of Health Professions invites applications for a nine-month, tenure track position in Speech-Language Pathology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Assigned teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate teaching, and clinical supervision and clinical teaching of speech-language pathology graduate students. Summer teaching and supervision opportunities may be available but are not required. This position is designed for a dynamic educator committed to excellence in teaching, student mentorship and supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Teaching and supervision methods, practices, and strategies should be in accordance with current evidence and best practice guidelines. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum that prepares students for careers in speech language pathology.
Essential Job Duties
  • Responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching, graduate clinical supervision, research, academic advising, and service to the department, college, and the University.
  • Area of interest is open.
  • UM offers the B.S. and M.S. in SLP through an accredited program.

Additional Duties
Education and Experience
CCC-SLP and Ph.D./SLP-D in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field are required. Strong ADB candidates will be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Licenses, Certification or Registrations
Current ASHA Certification, must be maintained
Alabama State License or be eligible to obtain Alabama State Licensure prior to beginning employment, must be maintained
Must possess or complete required supervisor-related training for speech language pathology
