About Us
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.
Job Summary
The Advancement & Alumni Affairs department is seeking a dependable and organized Federal Work Study Student. This role involves supporting the front desk, answering campus location inquiries, helping with preparations for alumni and Advancement events, and assisting the foundation accountant with clerical and data entry tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional office environment while working in a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities
  • Must be dependable and prompt.
  • Business casual dress required
  • Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Maintain his/her academic workload while handling a work-study job opportunity.
  • Must adhere to the code of confidentiality.
  • Perform clerical or data entry tasks and file essential documents accordingly.
  • Prepare outgoing mail as assigned.
  • Assist in answering phone calls coming into the office.
  • Support front office staff, covering the reception area as needed.
  • Process accounts payable weekly (code and key invoices, cut checks, prepare for outgoing mail, scan documentation).
  • Assist with gathering information for the annual audit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Be enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours, 12 hours preferably.
  • Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Experience with Office 365, including Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
