The Dean will serve in a staff-designated capacity toย  provide oversight forย undergraduateย andย graduate programsย withย anticipatedย growth to meet regional healthcare demands.ย The Dean will also serve as the Chief Nursing Administrator/Officer.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Provostโ€™sย Leadership Team the Dean reports to the Provost and provides service-centered,ย proactive,ย and dynamic leadershipย in collaboration with other Deans and departments at the institution.ย ย ย 
  • The Dean also aligns the SNHP's academic agenda with the University's strategic goals to ensure continuedย success and sustainable growth.ย ย ย 
  • With dedicated mentorship andย inclusivityย the Dean of SNHPย translates vision and strategy to actionable plans that advance current and new academic programs.ย ย 
  • The Dean strategically collaborates with schools within the University on multidisciplinary initiatives of meaningful societal and economic impact, to enlarge the academic landscape.ย ย 
  • In this transformative journey, over the next few years, the Dean is also expected to sustain the growth of SNHP, by being a skillful steward of resources,ย producing aย diverse and culturally competentย healthcare workforce.ย 
  • The Dean will display deep commitment to students, faculty,ย communityย andย healthcareย professionsย byย extendingย the School of Nursing's network of external partnerships with healthcare providers for clinical placements, collaborativeย researchย and outreach efforts.ย 
  • Theย Deanย ofย the SNHPย is responsible forย strategy,ย operationsย and theย day to dayย operationsย ofย theย school.ย ย 
  • Theย Deanย willย be responsible forย theย supervision ofย all SNHP, programs, directors, faculty,ย staffย andย students.ย 
  • The Deanย is responsible forย programย development in the schoolย with specific skill in shaping the quality of Nursing programs with NCLEX pass rates, andย success withย all SNHPย programsย and accreditations.ย

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Earnedย Doctorateย inย Nursingย from an accredited institution,ย or,ย an Ed.D. with significant and relevant professional experience isย required.ย 
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in progressively responsible leadership positions isย required.ย ย 
  • Professional certification and/or licensure in Nursingย is required.ย ย 
  • Administrative experience as department chair, associateย deanย or equivalent level with involvement in fiscal planning & budgets, ability to lead and manage faculty, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion,ย leadershipย and participation in shared governance.ย
