Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Admissions Social Media Student Assistant supports Berklee Admissions' efforts to engage prospective students and families through social media. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions, this student worker helps create and edit content that highlights the Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee communities, shares helpful admissions information, and supports prospective students throughout the application journey. This role is ideal for a student who is creative, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently and collaboratively, interested in social media, storytelling, admissions, and student engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the social media effort, such as photography, video editing, social media research and design, and other duties as assigned.
  • Some weekend hours are required to be present at school events for filming, such as the Admission Open House, Admitted Student Day, Boston A&I and more.
  • Study social media channels from competitor schools.
  • Responding to prospective students' questions across social media platforms in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • A strong desire to represent Berklee College and the Boston Conservatory community to prospective students and families in the virtual world.
  • Attention to detail, strong organization, and time-management skills.
  • Prior history of social media channel management will be preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and can work independently.
  • Able to conduct oral and written communication in an articulate, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
  • The ability to maintain and promote confidentiality is required.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet applications, strong writing and reading skills, strong computer skills, the ability to use editing software such as CapCut and Edits, and graphic design apps such as Canva.
  • Familiarity with social media trends is a plus.
  • Cultural fluency
  • Bilingual or trilingual in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish preferred.
