Job description

SUMMARY The purpose of this posting is to support the recruitment and collection of Federal Work-Study applications for eligible students at Gateway Technical College. Federal Work-Study positions are part-time student employment opportunities that provide valuable work experience while helping students earn money to support their educational expenses. Work-Study roles can be found across all campuses, offering students the chance to support a wide range of departments while gaining meaningful professional experience.

Applications submitted through this posting will be reviewed to determine eligibility for the Federal Work-Study program. Work-Study funding is awarded based on financial need and is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Applying early is strongly encouraged.

If an applicant is found to be ineligible, they will be provided with information outlining what may be needed to become eligible in the future, should they be interested in participating. Federal Work-Study employees are supervised by the department and/or area in which they are placed. * To learn more about the program and eligibility criteria, students should refer to Gateway's Federal Work-Study overview webpage.

RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to work the required hours for the position. Each department/area will require specific skills and abilities. It is the responsibility of the student employee to review and discuss the requirements of the position for which they are applying.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION Interview with department/area for skills and abilities fit. Each department/area may have conditions specific to its position. Students must be eligible for financial aid in order to work through the FWS program SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Visa sponsorship is not available. DIVISION/LOCATION: All Divisions/District Wide or Community Partner sites Hours: Hours vary depending upon position. Amount of hours can change weekly and are not to exceed 29 hours per week.

Position Type: Temporary FLSA: Non-Exempt SALARY: $15/hr CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Age 16 or older. Employment eligibility for the United States. Gateway does not sponsor employment based visas.
