Job description

The Work Study Student Assistant provides administrative and operational support that contributes to the efficient daily functioning of Student Health Services. Working collaboratively with staff across multiple service areas, the student assists with office organization, inventory management, wellness initiatives, and general administrative projects while gaining valuable professional experience in a healthcare setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide project-based support for all areas of Student Health Services, including Counseling, Medical, Insurance, and Wellness.
  • Organize and restock office materials, educational brochures, and pamphlets in reception and waiting areas.
  • Monitor, organize, and maintain inventory of office and program supplies.
  • Retrieve Student Health Services mail and packages from the campus mailroom.
  • Perform general administrative duties including copying, scanning, shredding, filing, and organizing storage areas.
  • Update and maintain community resource lists used by the Medical and Counseling Services teams.
  • Organize and prepare wellness kits, outreach materials, and health promotion resources.
  • Complete additional departmental projects as assigned, including watering office plants and assisting with sustainability initiatives such as compost disposal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Approved to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Student Health Services policies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform a variety of administrative tasks with attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous administrative, office, customer service, or healthcare-related experience.
  • Experience organizing supplies, maintaining inventory, or completing clerical tasks.
  • Interest in healthcare, wellness, counseling, public health, or higher education.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment.

WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
