JOB SUMMARY
Support the Chair and Faculty of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a variety of projects, events, promotion, research and other office/clerical work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Languages, Literatures and Cultures student employee will support the department Chair and Faculty with special projects, including assisting with planned events, preparing promotional materials (no special skills needed), simple research tasks, creating basic spreadsheets in MS Excel, occasional scheduling, and other similar tasks.
Federal work study pay rate is $15.49 per hour. Employees can work up to 20 hours per week for FWS (40 max per two-week pay period), but this job will average about 8 hours per week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have basic familiarity with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (email). Students from all majors are welcome, though an interest in languages and cultures is a plus.
Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is required. Students not eligible for FWS will not be considered. Applicants must be currently enrolled as undergraduates at Seton Hall University.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Skills in programs like ChatGPT, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and others are a plus.
  • Basic office/clerical experience a plus.
  • An interest in languages and cultures is a plus.
  • Language majors or minors are encouraged to apply.
