Job description

MOLD MAKER

For 30 years, Dynomax, Inc., a family owned business, has designed, manufactured, and developed high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles. We are looking for an experienced Mold Maker who will manufacture and assemble high precision injection mold tools. This includes analyzing specifications, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make molds.

Mold Maker Responsibilities:

  • Visualize and compute dimensions and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications
  • Study blueprints or specifications and use GD&T to plan sequences of operations for the manufacturing of mold components
  • Perform machining operations and set-up on tool room equipment such as milling equipment, surface grinders, and turning lathes
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, smoothness and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and microscopes
  • Perform critical bench and assembly operations including filing, grinding, shimming, and adjusting to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and ultimately finish projects

What we are looking for in a Mold Maker:

  • Minimum 8 years Mold Maker experience
  • Proficiency in injection mold tooling
  • Proficiency in tight tolerance precision machining, grinding and tool making equipment, processes and techniques
  • Ability to work within tolerances of +/-.0002” on a daily basis
  • Ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications to produce precision parts
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment including a microscope
