Job description

Role Summary:
Flowserve's Baton Rouge Pump Repair Center is seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our team as the sole machinist on second shift (12:00 PM-10:30 PM). In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of manual machine tools to produce precision parts and components for critical pump repair and overhaul work. You will use your expertise in mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures to fabricate, repair, or modify parts and instruments essential to industrial equipment reliability. This position offers a shift premium, bonus opportunities, and the chance to work independently in a wellequipped repair center with a strong safety culture. Because this shift is staffed by one machinist, versatility across manual machines is strongly preferred, and candidates must bring solid handson experience.

Second Shift Monday - Friday (12:00 pm to 10:30 pm)

Responsibilities:
Operate manual lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to carry out routine and complex machining tasks.
Perform operations following established processes and procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
Assist with equipment upkeep by preparing, maintaining, and supporting repair activities.
Follow all safety and environmental instructions to protect yourself and others.
Comply with required quality standards, regulatory codes, and internal guidelines.
Use precision measurement tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges, to verify tolerances.
Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerancing requirements.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors during shift handoffs and job planning.
Follow company policies and procedures while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes and milling machines.
Strong understanding of safety requirements and ability to follow safe work practices at all times.
Ability to work independently as the sole machinist on second shift.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Commitment to quality, accuracy, and reliable work practices.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Preferred:
High school diploma or GED with 5-7 years of relevant machinist experience.
Experience machining or supporting repair work on BBx pumps, OHx pumps, vertical pumps, small compressors, or other highenergy rotating equipment.
