ROLE SUMMARY:

Fabricate, install, maintain, assemble and repair piping systems.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints
  • Maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation
  • Repairs leaks in piping for steam, condensate, cooling and compressed air piping systems.
  • Lays out repairs and new installations of piping, plans work according to directions.
  • Performs repairs and installations of threaded, slip-joint, glued and welded pipe systems.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs support systems for piping installations, including hangers, and floor mounted supports.
  • Supports other maintenance functions with welding needs.
  • Bends and cuts pipe, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for plumbing connections as needed.
  • Connects plumbing to equipment, replaces plumbing fixtures and connections as needed.
  • Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
  • Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings.
  • Clears clogged drains, and replaces plumbing fixtures.
  • Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts. i.e.. steel, copper, iron and plastic.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Safety Procedures.
  • General housekeeping in maintenance areas and operating areas using prescribed company procedures
  • Performs other routine duties, including but not limited to, inspections and preventative
  • maintenance of plumbing systems, and other facility related activities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Welding Certificate a Plus
  • Journeyman Welding Card a Plus
  • Five years related\ Pipefitter/Welder experience.
  • Trained on manlift, scissor lift, forklift a plus.
