With a focus on delivering comprehensive services in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical contracting, we specialize in servicing both residential and commercial properties. Rooted in family values, our company has offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa, serving clients with dedication and professionalism.
Job Summary:
CT Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Pipefitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining refrigeration piping systems. With your expertise in copper brazing and soldering, you will ensure that our systems are installed to the highest standards of quality and safety. If you have experience as an HVAC Install Technician, you might find this role particularly fitting due to the overlap in required skills.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect work site to determine the presence of obstructions and ensure that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
- Plan installations or repairs to avoid obstructions and interference with the activities of other workers.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes as required for the job.
- Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Connect pipes using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to shut down equipment according to OSHA requirements and company safety rules.
- Set up and operate various pipe cutting, bending, and threading machinery.
- Bend, cut, thread, shape, fabricate, and install pipe according to job specifications.
- Cut and bore holes in structures such as walls and fixtures before pipe installation; attach pipes to walls and structures.
- Conduct hydraulic pressure tests of piping installations. Check and adjust controls, gauges, and valves to achieve control of flow or pressure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4 or more years of related experience in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to gain access to state and federal institutions.
- Must pass drug test and background check.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Strong experience in copper brazing and soldering, particularly beneficial for those transitioning from HVAC install roles.
- Solid understanding of relevant tools and machinery.
- Commitment to safety and following proper procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Company Culture:
At CT Mechanical, we foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and customer-centric service. Our core values - "Do what you say, Do what it takes, Walk with purpose, Do the right thing" - guide us in every interaction, ensuring that we exceed expectations and uphold the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
