Description
The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor invites applications for a part-time (33.33%) lecturer position in Mideast 201 beginning August 26, 2024. This is not a benefits-eligible position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching 3 discussion sessions, attending lecturer, and grading for Mideast 201 - "Madness, Medicine, and Magic in the Middle East".
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
Applicants should have experience teaching in Middle East Studies, Middle East History, Middle East Religion, or a related discipline related to the course content/subject matter. Experience with teaching Middle East Studies at the post-secondary level is desired. Language of instruction will be English.

You will need (1) a cover letter stating your interest in the position and detailing your language teaching experience; (2) CV (including courses taught and textbooks used); (3) statement of teaching philosophy; (4) a sample syllabus and a sample quiz/exam you recently used in an Arabic course, (5) and names and email addresses of three recommenders who will be asked to upload their letter separately.
