Are you a trade finance professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and influencing high-value client transactions?

At U.S. Bank Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS), you'll have the opportunity to become a trusted advisor on some of the most sophisticated Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) transactions in the industry. This is more than an operations role. It's a strategic position where your expertise helps clients achieve their business goals while guiding the bank through complex risk and documentation considerations.

As a Standby Letter of Credit Advisor, you'll collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit, Legal, and Commercial Banking teams to structure solutions, navigate intricate agreements, and drive successful outcomes for clients across a wide range of industries.

What You'll Do

As a trusted advisor, you will:

  • Consult on complex standby letter of credit transactions, including issuances, amendments, and unique structuring scenarios.

  • Review and interpret credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, and legal documentation.

  • Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit, and Legal teams to evaluate risk and develop effective client solutions.

  • Provide expert guidance on non-standard, high-profile, and time-sensitive client requests.

  • Support new client onboarding and complex relationship implementations.

  • Help clients confidently navigate the SBLC process from structuring through execution.

  • Balance strong risk management practices with business growth objectives and client needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Eight or more years of relevant work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Extensive experience with standby letters of credit and complex transaction structuring

  • Strong knowledge of ISP98, UCP600, and industry trade finance practices

  • Deep understanding of credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, and related legal documentation

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences

  • Proven success delivering outstanding client service in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and build consensus across multiple stakeholders

Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
