Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: Work Hour Considerations• Classes to be Zoomed are normally scheduled from 10 AM - Noon and 1 PM - 3 PM.• Once work study is established, consideration may be given to scheduling MORE Zoom classes such that either morning or afternoon classes are arranged to ensure student can make his or her class obligations.• Work hours flexible for non-Zoom assignments.General Commentary:Within reason, MORE staff is willing to be flexible in managing the hours of service and actual work-study assignments for the student(s) involved. It is recognized that work-study is a program designed to facilitate education toward a degree or certificate.
Supervision: Supervision Received: Reports to the MORE Program Director and may take direction from the Education & Outreach Coordinator.Supervision Given: None
Job Function
The MORE Program is the College outreach to the senior community for life-long learning and lifestyle enhancement.
Primary elements of the MORE Program are classes and events conducted each Spring and Fall plus short Summer and Winter sessions. Present staff works year around to create and run the Program.
Now hiring for the Fall 2026 semester.
All applicants MUST meet the following criteria or will be marked 'disqualified':
- a current student at Macomb Community College taking AT LEAST 6 credit hours.
- currently have a work-study award given by Financial Aid - If you have not received an award or are not sure, fill out and submit

Job Responsibilities
Primary Work-Study Job Requirements
  • Maintain a reliable work schedule consistent with both academic commitments and MORE Program operations.
  • Plan to work approximately 10 hours/week during the academic semester (total of 160 hours).
  • Support the MORE Program Director and MORE Program Assistant with administrative tasks such as:
  • Attendee and Presenter reminder emails;
  • Mailing list maintenance;
  • Compiling and analyzing Presenter feedback forms;
  • Set-up of class check-in desk and handling Attendee check-in process.
Secondary Work-Study Job Requirements
  • Sufficient technical ability to set up and monitor Zoom-hybrid video projection of selected classes, supporting the MORE Program Assistant.
  • Work involves responding to chat inquiries from home Attendees and communicating those to the presenter as necessary, e.g., questions regarding class content.
  • Some lower-level technical trouble shooting capability is a plus. Training on this will be provided by appropriate staff.
Typical duties could include:
  • Excel program data entry;
  • Registering and class check-in of MORE Attendees;
  • Support of off-site events (e.g., DIA bus tour) if practicable.
