The Federal Work Study Administrative position will assist the Game Department Manager with general daily operations within the Game Department to include supporting students, faculty and supporting with basic administrative functions.
This Federal Work Study position will support current students by providing opportunities for students to be involved in the behind the scenes of the Department organization and assisting students in the use of the administrative questions or schedules with faculty. In addition, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student's educational program or vocational goals by providing opportunities for Federal Work Study Administrative students to increase their skills with learning the department class offerings, learn customer service skills, and learn basic administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting any walk-in student or faculty questions, and rerouting to Department inbox if needed for extra support.
  • Responding to department reception emails from students and instructors to support with calendar scheduling for students/staff and any questions that come in.
  • Update various department spreadsheets for tracking various department curriculum updates, semesterly projects or other as needed
  • Create and update Department Flyers/Posters/ Newsletters/ Signs as needed
  • Assist with posting any flyers onsite as needed
  • Put up/update displays and exhibits, when needed (ex Spring Show)
  • Other office duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and interest in taking initiative to problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Google Drive Apps, Photoshop
  • Familiar with Outlook, Discord, Instagram, Facebook, ArtStation

Pay Rate :
$19.61 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, anytime between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm
15 to 20 hours per week
Federal Work Study schedules can work up to 20 hours per week*
*Federal Work Study work schedules may not conflict with the student's class schedule.
Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
