Position Information

Greets customers immediately upon entering the store
Strong customer service skills including effective communication
Be able to stand for long periods
Ability to prioritize and organize workload
Operates cash/credit transactions accurately in a timely manner. Processing employee or faculty discounts as appropriate. Balances cash drawers, including opening and closing of daily drawers
Receive, sort and open new merchandise as directed and carry up to 50 lb boxes of merchandise as needed and place in proper areas.
Straighten merchandise including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning shelves and displays. May assist in setting up displays and signs. May be required to mop, vacuum, clean bathrooms and storage areas. Take out trash.
Fill in for employees during absences, for breaks and lunches and during periods of high volume
Pick, process and pack orders for shipping in accordance with Retail Store Operations
Available to work at the store location or remote locations at North Central College events such as but not limited to: sporting events, alumni events, special school events, graduation events, author signings, special sales events
Take inventory as needed and may be responsible for ordering general merchandise items (snacks, beverages etc.)
Proficient with computers and POS systems
Do the job duties for this position include any driving requirements? No Job Qualifications
The position greets customers, assists customers with store inquiries, answers the phone and/or directs callers, tabulates purchases using the POS for transactions. Use safe money handling procedures and secure transaction practices. Organization skills necessary.
Will this position be working with minors? No Approximate number of work hours per week Up to 15 hours
