Job Title: Structures Mechanic – Regional Aircraft (CRJ & Embraer Fleet)

Job Description

This role focuses on performing heavy maintenance, structural repairs, and interior modifications on regional aircraft, including CRJ 700/900 and Embraer 145 models, in a Part 121 and MRO environment. You will work on C and D checks, execute structural and sheet metal tasks, and support cabin reconfiguration projects that enhance passenger experience and optimize seating layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural maintenance and repair on CRJ 700 aircraft, including heavy maintenance C and D checks.
  • Support maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities on CRJ 900 aircraft in a Part 121 environment.
  • Carry out structural and sheet metal work on Embraer 145 aircraft, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and procedures.
  • Execute interior modifications on CRJ 700 aircraft, including reconfiguring cabins from 70 seats to 50 seats by reducing economy seating and expanding first and business class sections.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical data provided on tablets, ensuring all work follows engineering specifications and maintenance manuals.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform structural repairs, replacements, and modifications on aircraft fuselage, wings, and related components.
  • Inspect completed work to verify structural integrity, quality, and adherence to regulatory and company standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Structures Mechanic, preferably in an MRO environment.
  • Hands-on experience performing structural and sheet metal work on regional aircraft, including CRJ series (such as CRJ 700 and CRJ 900) and/or Embraer 145.
  • Experience with heavy maintenance operations, including C and D checks.
  • Familiarity with Part 121 operations and requirements.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical data.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • MRO experience in a Part 121 environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in aircraft assembly environments such as large aerospace manufacturers (for example, LMI or Spirit Aerosystems) is considered and may be accepted.
  • Previous experience with interior modification projects, including cabin reconfigurations, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively in a non–climate-controlled hangar and in line maintenance conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Willingness to take advantage of paid training and advancement opportunities to grow within the organization.

Why Work Here?

The organization offers healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) plan, paid sick time, life insurance, and term disability. Team members enjoy flight benefits, including discounted and standby travel, as well as a 20% travel discount and a 25% discount on all Sonic tools. The company provides paid training, advancement opportunities, and a uniform allowance, and fosters a sense of community through events such as holiday celebrations and anniversary gatherings.

Work Environment

You will work in a non–climate-controlled hangar and perform line maintenance as needed, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and environmental conditions. The schedule typically follows either four 10-hour shifts (4x10s) or three 12-hour shifts (3x12s), and you must be able to work any day or shift, including weekends and holidays, depending on operational requirements. Overtime is voluntary and effectively unlimited, subject to safety and quality considerations.
