The Trio Programs Work-Study Student Assistant will assist in managing student files, data entry, and maintaining compliance documentation
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with general office duties including filing, photocopying, answering phones, and maintaining records
  • Support data entry into Blumen or other TRIO database systems for student attendance, contact logs, and workshop evaluations
  • Help prepare materials for student workshops, college tours, tutoring sessions, and Saturday academies
  • Assist staff in organizing and supervising student activities during the academic year or summer program

General Qualifications
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study
  • Must be in good academic standing at the college/university
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Specific Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of office procedures
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn federal TRIO program regulations and objectives
  • Knowledge of or interest in college access and success initiatives for first-generation, income-eligible students.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Accurate data entry and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to assist with event logistics and workshop coordination
