The Womanist Musings Student Producer will support the technical, organizational, and production needs of the podcast. This position focuses on podcast planning, recording logistics, editing support, file management, episode preparation, and distribution.

Location: Lippman and Schaffer Library

Supervisor: Deidre Hill Butler

Hours/Shifts Available: Days

Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr

Number of Positions available: 2

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist with scheduling and organizing podcast recording sessions

  • Prepare recording spaces, equipment, and materials before each session

  • Support guest communication, reminders, and recording logistics

  • Help manage audio files, transcripts, episode notes, and production folders

  • Assist with basic audio editing, uploading, and episode distribution

  • Create draft episode descriptions, titles, and promotional materials

  • Track production timelines, deadlines, and publishing schedules

  • Help maintain podcast records, contact lists, and media archives

  • Support social media and campus promotion for released episodes

  • Work collaboratively with faculty, student producers, and invited guests

Qualifications:

  • Interest in media, podcast production, communications, or digital storytelling

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Comfort learning basic recording and editing tools

  • Good communication and collaboration skills

  • Attention to detail with files, schedules, and deadlines

  • Ability to work independently after the training period
