Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Strategic Communications & Marketing department on the Blue Ridge campus. The Audio Visual Student Assistant supports campus event spaces by ensuring AV equipment is functional and ready for use. This position primarily serves remote campuses without full-time AV staff. The role involves routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and communication with supervisors or IT for issue resolution. The student also assists with event setup and campus AV needs as required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine checks of microphones, projectors, and other AV equipment in assigned spaces.
  • Report and coordinate technical issues with supervisors or IT support teams.
  • Assist with setup and basic operation of AV equipment for scheduled events.
  • Communicate with campus leads regarding ongoing needs and support for small AV-related projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Basic familiarity with audio/visual equipment or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills and reliability when working independently.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and follow instructions.
