Job Title: Student Counsellor


Western Community College is seeking a Student Counsellor to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide academic, career, and personal counselling support to students, and coordinate counselling and information services with parents, teachers, and administrators.


Duties and Responsibilities


The Student Counsellor will perform the following duties:


  • Participate in educational conferences and professional development workshops to stay current on counselling practices and resources
  • Provide counselling to students on educational, career, and vocational matters, including course selection and career planning.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, college administrators, and community agencies on student needs and progress
  • Coordinate counselling and information services delivered to students, parents, and teaching staff.
  • Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest assessments.
  •  Identify students requiring specialized support and refer them to the appropriate outside services.


Requirements / Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience
• Fluency in English
