Job description

Schedule: Start time: 5PM until completion (often requires overtime)
Off Saturday and one other day during the week except Sundays and Thursdays

Overview:

Order Selectors are the front line to all customer orders as their main function is to prepare product from inventory for outbound shipping. The order selector is responsible for selecting customer orders and fulfilling them as quickly and as accurately as possible, this includes selecting, staging, palletizing and loading of customer orders to be delivered without damage or error.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reading customer orders accurately.
  • Locating and selecting the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer’s order.
  • Operating Electric Riding Jack and other warehouse machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping.
  • Placing the prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks.
  • Performing visual inspections of orders to ensure they are correct and ready for shipment.
  • Labeling order shipments correctly for easy identification.
  • Applying shrink wrap to the prepared order before shipping.
  • Following warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and the other workers when transporting items.
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and organized at all times.

Work Requirements/Condition:

• Must be able to work in a fast paste environment.
• Requires repeated stooping and bending.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of boxes
• Require continuous standing for extended periods of time on electric pallet jacks.
• Working in a 35-degree (F) for 8-10 hours daily
• Working in a damp environment 8-10 hours daily

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (35-55 degrees)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly up to 50lbs throughout shift
  • Must be able to work scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position
  • Must be able to meet productivity goal of 1,100 cases per-shift by 30 days

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry
  • Warehouse distribution and produce knowledge
  • Electric Riding Jack experience required
