 Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders.

JOB TITLE: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)

Location: King & Snohomish Counties

Status: Non-Exempt


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Receives general supervision from the Medical Director, the Psychiatric Director, and the Branch Manager. This is a non-supervisory position that will work one day at the Kent Branch, one day at the Rainier Branch, and one remote workday. The hours of this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesdays (Rainier Branch), Thursdays (Remote), and Fridays (Kent Branch) with a pay range of $71.16 to $77.12 per hour. 


RESPONSIBILITES:  

  • Completes psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and consult documentation: and assures that necessary consent forms, laboratory requests, reviews laboratory results, and prepares reports relevant to work as directed.
  •  Participates in team meetings with the substance use treatment team, mental health team, and the psychiatric team. 
  •  Provides consultation and education regarding psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology to the mental health and substance use treatment staff.
  •  Collaborates and provides both intra-agency and external consultation regarding the care of individual participants as treatment indicates.
  •  Reviews treatment plans, progress notes, concurrent reviews, or discharge summaries, as requested, to assure participant care is optimal.
  •  Supervises students from Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing Education Institutions as requested.
  •  Maintains appropriate professional behavior, emotional self-regulation, communication, boundaries, and ethical practices.
  •  Adheres to standards on punctuality, attendance, and attire/appearance.
  •  Demonstrates clear, respectful, and appropriate judgement, accountability, and responsiveness to feedback.  


Requirements

  • National credentialing in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing
  • State licensure as a Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority
  • Active and unrestricted DEA license
  • MSN or DNP in psychiatric nursing and a minimum of two years' work experience relevant to severe mental illness, chemical dependency, and diverse ethnic and cultural populations.
  • Basic physical assessment skills necessary for appropriate referral of clients to medical providers.
  • Ability to apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills to emotionally charged situations.
  • Demonstrate competency in current/new electronic record systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, and required Relias (online) trainings.

Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings

Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, and standing (with accommodations provided for specific positions).

Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary

Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
