Why This Role Exists

This role exists to support continued production demand at Wire-Tech Manufacturing, a precision metal machining and tooling shop serving military, aviation, and general manufacturing customers. With a mix of CNC machining, EDM, tooling, and fabrication work done in-house, this position plays a key role in producing high-quality precision metal parts to customer print.

This is a hands-on machining role where quality, consistency, and collaboration with engineering truly matter.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Operate CNC mills and CNC lathes in a production machining environment
  • Load, validate, and execute CNC programs using Mastercam
  • Modify and update CNC programs as needed to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Interpret, update, and modify CAD drawings (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Machine precision metal parts to print specifications
  • Perform in-process and final inspection using CMMs, micrometers, and gauges
  • Assist team members with CNC programming, setup, and troubleshooting
  • Support production schedules and on-time delivery goals
  • Follow and support Wire-Tech’s ISO 9001 quality system

This role is well-suited for machinists who enjoy variety, problem-solving, and collaboration rather than just button-pushing.

  • Johnford VMC 1050 Mill

CAM / CAD Software

  • Mastercam
  • AutoCAD (or similar)

Inspection Tools

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes
  • Hands-on experience with Mastercam
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and setups
  • Comfortable working in a production metal parts environment

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience modifying CAD designs in AutoCAD
  • Experience with grinding or secondary machining processes
  • Prior experience working in ISO 9001 environments
