Founded in 1998, Malta House is looking for a Human Services professional who wants to make a measurable and meaningful impact in the lives of at-risk young adult families.
The primary responsibility of the Residential Advisor is to assist in all aspects of residential operations and to support delivery of programs and services in the fulfillment of the mission, in accordance with principles, policies, and procedures of Malta House.
The ideal candidate has a strong passion for working with young adult and at-risk families, has strong administrative skills, and has achieved a minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in human services.
Schedule:Part-time Saturday & Sunday (5pm-11pm)
Key Responsibilities:- Provide staff coverage in the residence and oversee all activities including chores, meal preparation, groups, and cleaning
- Assign weekly resident chores, facilitate chore training for new residents, and assist in supervision of house maintenance
- Complete assigned cleaning during shift
- Ensure all resident policies and procedures are followed and implement corrective actions as needed
- Complete required documentation, including log entries and incident reports, on a regular basis throughout shifts.
- Ensure that any health or safety issues regarding an adult or child resident is reported to the oncall management staff
- Assist in the implementation of special events and social outings as needed
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Other duties as required
Physical Requirements:- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, and Internet Research
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education, Skills, Experience- Minimum of an associate degree in Human Services or related field
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
- Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills with moderate to strong computer knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as a team, accurately, and efficiently, with an eye for detail
- Possess empathy and compassion for lowincome and homeless families and individuals in need
- Reliable ability to arrive to work on time and as scheduled
