Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Assemble materials, packaging, sequence materials or preparation of materials for distribution via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Works cooperatively with area supervisor to achieve maximum production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receives job assignments and sample from Supervisor along with job ticket.
  • Processes pieces according to sample verifying job ticket for job number, counts and materials.
  • Assist QA Operator in recording job processing information into corporate MIS system for production records at the beginning and end of a job.
  • Ensures mail is processed according to USPS, FedEx or UPS mailing specifications, including but not limited to weighing mail, packaging, placing mail in trays, banding trays and stacking them on pallets or in other postal containers accordingly.
  • Creates shippers and/or labels using computers and scanners.
  • Performs repetitive tasks such as hand stuffing and sealing envelopes, visually matching names and addresses during inserting, hand folding, stapling, labeling, applying postage, and sorting materials.
  • Identifies any defective items and handles according to established procedures.
  • Conducts quality checks balancing jobs against work tickets.
  • Complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic reading, math and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions with attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
