Job description

Paraplanner - Wealth Management
Location: Exeter, CA (In-office, Virtual)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000-$110,000 (Dependent upon experience and demonstrated planning capability)
Incentive Opportunity: Performance-based bonus tied to planning quality, accuracy,
and consistency of deliverables, and measurable impact on advisor effectiveness
Any final offer of employment will be contingent upon the candidate arranging reference conversations with former managers.
About Harvest Wealth Group
At Harvest Wealth Group, we believe in making our clients feel known, valued, and genuinely cared for. At Harvest Wealth Group, we believe exceptional client experiences are built on clarity, consistency, and disciplined execution. Our advisors serve individuals, families, and business owners through comprehensive financial planning, thoughtful investment management, and long-term advisory relationships.
We operate on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and are intentionally building the infrastructure, roles, and standards required to deliver high-quality financial planning at scale-without sacrificing rigor or client trust.
As the firm grows, we are investing deeply in the planning engine behind our advisors. The Strategic Paraplanner is a cornerstone of that engine.
The Role
This is not an administrative paraplanner role. This is not a "run reports and fill templates" seat.
This role exists to:
  • Elevate the quality and consistency of our financial planning output
  • Reduce advisor dependence on leadership for plan construction
  • Ensure planning delivery is predictable, precise, and scalable
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to advisors through analysis, scenarios, and presentation

The Strategic Paraplanner owns the technical integrity, analytical depth, and presentation quality of Harvest Wealth Group's financial plans. Advisors rely on this role to walk into meetings confident that the strategy is sound, the numbers are right, and the story is clear.
  • You are trusted with complex client situations, not just inputs
  • Your work directly shapes client recommendations and decisions
  • Advisors depend on your judgment, not just your output
  • Your attention to detail protects both clients and the firm
  • You help transform planning from a person-dependent craft into a firm-wide capability

This role is ideal for someone who takes professional pride in being excellent at the hardest parts of planning-analysis, accuracy, and clarity.
Professional Designation & Experience Requirements
Required
  • CFP® certification or CFP® candidate in active progress
  • 3+ years in a paraplanner or technical planning role
  • Experience building full financial plans (not just data entry)
  • Strong working knowledge of retirement, investments, insurance, and tax fundamentals
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with high accuracy
  • Clear written communication and client-ready deliverables

Preferred
  • CFP® certification completed
  • 5+ years of technical planning experience
  • Experience with complex or high-net-worth households
  • Advanced scenario modeling (distribution planning, Roth strategies, tax-aware planning)
  • Experience improving workflows or reviewing planning quality
  • Familiarity with MoneyGuidePro, Holistiplan, and Orion

Core Responsibilities
Technology Systems & Mastery
• Advanced proficiency in MoneyGuidePro for building, stress-testing, and refining comprehensive financial plans
• Working knowledge of Holistiplan (or comparable tax-planning software) to model tax-aware strategies and scenario analysis
• Disciplined, consistent use of a CRM system for documentation, workflow management, and data integrity
• Strong familiarity with investment reporting and portfolio comparison platforms (e.g., Orion or similar) to evaluate performance, risk alignment, and concentration
• Ability to learn and integrate planning, tax, and portfolio data across systems with precision and efficiency
Financial Planning Data Mastery
• Collect, organize, and validate client financial data across all planning domains
• Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear inputs before plans are built
• Ensure internal consistency and accuracy across all data sources
Financial Plan Development & Analysis
• Build comprehensive financial plans using Harvest's planning methodology
• Run and interpret scenarios, projections, and trade-off analyses
• Anticipate advisor and client questions through proactive modeling
Client-Ready Planning Deliverables
• Produce clear, professional, client-ready planning deliverables
• Translate complex planning concepts into understandable summaries
• Ensure all materials align with firm standards and advisor expectations
Advisor Support & Planning Execution
• Prepare advisors for planning and strategy conversations
• Anticipate advisor needs ahead of client meetings
• Ensure recommendations are implementation-ready and well-documented
Accuracy, Quality Control & Reliability
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail across all planning work
• Catch errors, inconsistencies, or omissions before plans are reviewed or delivered
• Apply quality-control checklists and verification processes consistently
• Understand that small errors can create outsized client and compliance risk
Process Stewardship & Improvement
• Follow documented workflows and planning standards consistently
• Surface breakdowns or inefficiencies in the planning process early
• Contribute to refining templates, workflows, and quality standards as the firm scales
Qualifications & Experience
• Prior experience in a paraplanner, planning analyst, or technical planning role within a wealth management or advisory firm
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Retirement planning
  • Investment strategy
  • Insurance and risk management
  • Tax-aware strategies
  • Estate planning coordination

• Demonstrated ability to work with complex financial data accurately and independently
• Experience using financial planning software to build full plans and scenarios
• Strong written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple planning cases without sacrificing quality
• Comfort operating within a structure while helping improve it
• High accountability, follow-through, and professional judgment
Your Leadership
You will work closely with Elizabeth, a leader who combines high standards with high support.
Her leadership style is:
  • Direct and fast-paced
  • Deeply invested in planning quality and advisor development
  • Focused on clarity, accountability, and continuous improvement

The firm is actively scaling-refining service models, strengthening segmentation, integrating new technology, and preparing for growth through acquisitions. Those who thrive here value direct feedback, mastery of their craft, and clear expectations.
What Success Looks Like

• Planning workflows are reliable and predictable-no last-minute scrambling
• Planning quality remains high as volume and complexity increase
• Advisors gain capacity to focus on relationships and growth without sacrificing quality
• The financial planning offering becomes easier to deliver, sell, and scale
You Will Absolutely Love This Job If You:
• Take pride in accuracy, consistency, and high standards
• Enjoy detailed, analytical financial planning work
• Like supporting advisors by making their work easier and more reliable
• Are energized by building reliable systems and workflows
• Prefer clear expectations, structure, and accountability
• Feel personal responsibility for the quality of your work
You Will Hate This Job If You:
• Prefer speed over accuracy
• Dislike detailed, methodical work
• Get defensive when errors are identified
• Avoid structure, standards, or review processes
• Struggle to manage multiple priorities without losing precision
Salary & Benefits
• Base Salary: $75,000-$110,000

and consistency of deliverables, and measurable impact on advisor effectiveness
• 401(k): 3% match + 4% employer contribution with 5% employee deferral
• Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage
• PTO: Paid time off with advance manager approval and one month paid sabbatical after three years of service
