Work from home microbiology jobs are relatively uncommon because most work in this field is laboratory-based, but home-based positions do exist. In this remote role, you may study records from an experiment, compile research from multiple sources, or otherwise participate in the development of a final report. You may also suggest a microbiology test to a lab, coordinate efforts between geographically dispersed labs, and oversee the communication process. Work from home microbiologists occasionally receive shipments of samples and examine them at home instead of a laboratory. This is usually limited to specimens widely considered safe. On rare occasions, you may remotely control robots when working with exceptionally dangerous microbes.
