Job description

We are looking for a passionate, experienced tutor who has a strong background in Mathematics and can tutor high school students in Grade 9-Grade 12. Candidates should be familiar with the Ontario high school curriculum, including Functions, Calculus, etc. Being able to tutor other high school subjects such as science is a bonus but not necessary. This position will be completely remote and all tutoring will be done online. Applicants should be currently enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's Degree in a related field study OR your BEd.

Your Role:

  • Provide online Math tutoring sessions through our online learning video platform to high-school students in Ontario
  • Observe and evaluate a student's skill level to determine progress and work towards improvement with the help of our tutoring program
  • Work alongside parents/guardians to create a personal academic plan or timeline for the student
  • Help students in their area of need such as homework completion, getting ahead in class, learning new concepts, etc.
  • Be able to relate to the students and act as a mentor to them

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English
  • Currently enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's Degree in your field of study or a B.Ed
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience in Ontario is required
  • Good knowledge of the Ontario math curriculum
  • Have access to a computer with a webcam and a stable internet connection
  • Be available during some weeknights (past 4 PM) and weekends

Ability to tutor other subjects (i.e. English, French, etc.) is a bonus!

Tutoring Sessions
Tutors can create their own schedules based on client preference and personal preference. Tutors can accept and decline tutoring opportunities but should be available to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.
