This position will be responsible for reviewing underwriting submittals including carrier and 3rd party engineering reports for our Middle Market Team. Occupancies include: Hospitality, Public Entities, Healthcare, Retail, Communications, Warehousing, and Industrial & Manufacturing. Remote based position with travel expected to be less than 10%. Ideally live near one of our offices for occasional visits in with Team. The positing responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Desktop reviews of underwriting submittals, engineering reports, and COPE information.
Setting up and conducting phone surveys for prospective accounts.
Completing building and sprinkler protection plan reviews.
Provide guidance to underwriting staff regarding risk quality/insurability.
Quoting inspections and jurisdictional services as needed.

Completing local property loss control site surveys as necessary

Qualifications will include:

  • Understanding sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, process hazards, and property loss control issues preferred.
  • Good familiarity with basic computer operations with knowledge of software programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Technical knowledge of loss prevention codes (NFPA, FM, API, ASME, etc.) standards and industry practices preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as in concert with underwriters to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication, writing, organization, customer relations, public speaking and time management skills.
  • College graduate with minimum Bachelors of Science in recognized engineering discipline with preference given to fire protection.
  • Preferred minimum 2 years experience in property loss control field or as an in-house desktop reviewer for an insurance, consulting, or brokerage company.
