Job description

Position Summary
This Aircraft Maintenance Manager will be a key partner to the Assistant Director of Maintenance to ensure the organization's maintenance efforts remain compliant, efficient, and safe. Manage and Monitor the Maintenance Control On-site and remote employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance control operations for the Thrive Aviation's Fleet.
  • Ensures Maintenance Control conducts themselves within the guidelines of company policies, work rules, and regulatory regulation.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding aircraft maintenance.
  • Provides coaching, counseling, and guidance to Maintenance Controllers.
  • Ensures the proper paperwork is provided and filed for component overhauls, aircraft communication /navigation equipment certifications, and associated components in accordance with Thrive Aviation manuals, manufacturer's manuals, bulletins, and orders.
  • Ensures proper execution of an Airworthiness Release.
  • Responsible for signing for the accomplishment of work on applicable work forms and records.
  • Processes all necessary paperwork as mandated by regulation.
  • Creates and maintain budgets for maintenance operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial goals.
  • Delegates assigned work in an expeditious manner, exercising sound judgement in executing each work project
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management to provide updates on maintenance activities and address any concerns.
  • Make critical decisions in fast paced environment to ensure the safety and airworthiness of the fleet.
  • Foster Thrive Aviation's culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
  • Some travel may be a requirement.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team.

Requirements
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.
  • May be required to carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • On occasion, must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an office environment. The work is typically done while sitting at a desk or table.
  • The work environment will include various climates as some duties will be performed in hangar space not temperature controlled.
  • Keeps Assistance Director of Maintenance briefed on all aircraft status.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be extremely loud.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and company requirements.
  • Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to plan and schedule maintenance work requirements and to direct skilled technicians in the daily performance of their duties.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to supervise a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of flight line operations, aircraft/vehicle movement, and safety/hazards.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft common and special tools and test equipment, aircraft technical orders/job guides/ publications and schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications, aircraft engine, landing gear, and flight control systems
  • Some travel may be required.

Experience & Qualifications
The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria.
  • Current A&P License required.
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management or related field; OR
  • 7-10 years of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection experience with a Part 135 operator
  • 5 years in supervisor or management position.
  • Expert level knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft maintenance
  • Strong leadership with extensive knowledge and aircraft maintenance and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of aircraft parts management
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and applicable suite of products
  • Fluency and knowledge of applicable industry specific-software tools, including Flexx , Traxxall, CAMP, and Corridor are highly preferred.
