Job description

Bluelight is a leading software consultancy dedicated to designing and developing innovative technology that enhances users' lives. With a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients, Bluelight excels in its focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Our mission is not only to create cutting-edge applications but also to foster a collaborative and enriching work environment where each team member can grow and thrive. With a presence across the United States and Central/South America, Bluelight is in an exciting phase of expansion, continually seeking exceptional talent to join its dynamic and diverse community.
We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Developer with a deep specialization in Magento 2 and WordPress to manage, maintain, and potentially take over the full technical ownership of our clients' digital ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-performance e-commerce and agile content management. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability of the current Magento instance, managing WordPress integrations, and executing seamless deployments as we transition technical responsibilities.
What we are looking for
  • Dual-Platform Mastery: Deep, hands-on experience with Magento 2.x (architecture, EAV models, UI components) and WordPress (custom themes, hooks, and plugin development).
  • Legacy Code Navigation: A proven ability to inherit, audit, and optimize existing codebases. You should be comfortable identifying "technical debt" and documenting inherited systems.
  • Modern PHP Expert: Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x and Object-Oriented Programming, with a solid grasp of Composer and PSR standards.
  • Database & Performance Ninja: Experience optimizing MySQL queries and managing high-performance caching layers like Redis, Varnish, and Elasticsearch.
  • Frontend Fluency: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), and JavaScript. Specific experience with Magento's frontend stack (Knockout.js, RequireJS) is a significant plus.
  • System Integration Skills: Experience working with REST/GraphQL APIs to connect Magento and WordPress with external ERPs, CRMs, or marketing tools.
  • DevOps & Deployment Savvy: Solid understanding of Git version control, staging-to-production workflows, and managing Linux-based server environments (Nginx/Apache).
  • Security-First Mindset: Knowledge of PCI compliance, Magento security patching, and WordPress hardening techniques to keep our data and customers safe.
  • Certification (The "Gold Standard"): While not required, an Adobe Certified Professional (Magento) or similar credential will put you at the top of our list.

Company Benefits
  • Competitive salary and bonuses, including performance-based salary increases.
  • Generous paid-time-off policy
  • Flexible working hours
  • Work remotely
  • Continuing education, training, conferences
  • Company-sponsored coursework, exams, and certifications

Being a consultant in our team is a fun, challenging, and rewarding career choice. Your contributions are highly valued by clients, and the work you do often has a direct and significant impact on their business.
You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for our incredible clients, which will accelerate your career growth. You'll collaborate with modern technologies and work alongside some of the best professionals in the industry!
If you're eager to be part of an exciting, challenging, and rapidly growing consultancy, we encourage you to apply. #LI-Remote
