You lose sleep over accessibility (in the best way). Youre already experimenting with AI-assisted development and excited to help define what that looks like in a real agency workflow. And you want to be part of conversations, not just handed tickets.

What Youll Do

Build & Architect

  • Design and develop custom WordPress themes using modern PHP best practices; Timber/Twig, ACF Pro, and block-based architecture
  • Build in Webflow when its the right tool for the job or fits the clients needs
  • Ensure every build meets WCAG 2.1 AA, Core Web Vitals standards, and semantic HTML best practices
  • Integrate third-party APIs, headless data sources, and custom data layers

Oversee & Elevate Quality

  • Review and give constructive feedback on work from outsourced contributors
  • Establish coding standards, documentation practices, and QA processes for the team
  • Conduct performance audits and implement fixes for load time, query efficiency, and rendering bottlenecks

Plan & Collaborate

  • Join client discovery and scoping calls to define technical requirements and level of effort
  • Develop sprint plans with account and project management teams
  • Translate Figma designs into precise, responsive, performant front-end experiences

Push the Craft Forward

  • Lead MESHs exploration of AI-assisted development, we use Claude Code and are actively shaping our vibe coding workflow
  • Evaluate and advocate for tools and workflows that meaningfully improve how we build
  • Help evolve CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices across client environments

What You Bring

Required

  • 35 years of professional WordPress development, including custom theme development
  • Strong PHP proficiency with modern best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Timber/Twig, ACF Pro, and Gravity Forms
  • Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals, Git, and version-controlled workflows
  • Deep commitment to web accessibility, you know WCAG, apply it, and advocate for it
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
  • Comfortable on client-facing calls and scoping conversations

Preferred

  • Webflow project experience
  • Agency background managing multiple client projects simultaneously
  • CI/CD and deployment tooling (GitHub Actions, DeployHQ, WP Engine, etc.)
  • Google Analytics, Search Console, and Tag Manager Experience
  • Experience with Figma and design handoffs
  • Knowledge of Craft CMS, Drupal or other open source CMS platforms
  • Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar)

Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to present valid U.S. Work Authorization documents
  • Candidate must demonstrate verbal and written mastery of the English language
  • Candidate may be required to travel to attend in-person meetings with clients (such as Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia)
  • If remote, quarterly travel to headquarters for in-person group check-ins
  • Working hours are Central Standard Time

Why MESH

We offer competitive compensation, strong benefits, and a hybrid working environment. More than that, a team that goes all in, tells the truth, and genuinely has fun doing the work. If you want a place where your craft is valued and your curiosity is rewarded, lets talk.
