Job description

Introduction
Bigge Crane and Rigging has been elevating America since 1916. Job Overview
This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the shop, wash rack, and yard areas are well-maintained and operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will perform a wide range of duties including cleaning, organizing, equipment upkeep, and providing support to office personnel when needed.
Responsibilities
Shop Duties
  • Deliver and make runs for the shop, as directed
  • Empty garbage cans daily
  • Maintain the restroom, hand towels, toilet paper, keep walls, windows sinks and floors clean
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shop; all items off floor and sweep daily
  • Keep shop office and parts room swept
  • Wipe off and maintain all workbenches.
  • Keep all floor mounted power tools wiped down (drill press, grinders, parts washer, etc.)
  • Clean up any oil spills, drips, and any slipping hazards immediately on the complete premises

Wash Rack Maintenance
  • Empty all garbage cans daily
  • Wipe down steam cleaner unit and hoses and roll up all hoses
  • Steam clean floor, as needed (greasy)
  • Steam clean cranes and equipment, including using rolling scaffolding to access high equipment and creeper to access the underside of equipment.
  • Keep windows clean to allow more light in the wash area
  • Keep the floor clean from any debris that comes off equipment
  • Maintain other duties of the wash rack as directed by the shop foreman

Yards Duties
  • Keep ground free of tire hazards, i.e. nails, welding rods
  • Keep all wood blocking stacked in one area
  • Wipe down fuel pumps and sweep pump area weekly
  • Keep trees and weeds cut down along fence line and boom pile area
  • Clean up oil spills in the yard immediately
  • Work as directed by the terminal supervisor and yard supervisor

Office Support
  • Supply support to office personnel when requested
  • Remove recyclables from shop and front offices daily
  • Set up tables and chairs for meetings
  • Replace light bulbs and make small repairs, as needed

Requirements
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification is a plus
