General Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Works in all environments where coverage is needed (0-6 years)
  • Supports the Lead Guides at all times (during work cycle, enabling them to focus on instructional time without interruptions. Assistants work very closely to the Lead Guide and act as their "right hand")
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized classroom environment
  • Managing physical care of children (including diapering and toileting)
  • Assists children with organizing materials and bringing tasks to completion
  • Constant communication with children in a firm, yet loving and kind presence and upholding a calm patient environment
  • Communicates with Lead Guide regarding all aspects of the children and classroom. (Management)
  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all school/ classroom procedures and standards as well as all licensing guidelines
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the school at all times.
  • Keep up with required training hours & certifications according to licensing
