Position Summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking an experienced Womenโ€™s Health Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Womenโ€™s Health team.

This position provides comprehensive ambulatory womenโ€™s healthcare, including preventive, reproductive, gynecologic, prenatal, and postpartum services. The Nurse Practitioner will practice in a collaborative environment with strong clinical and operational support.

With no deliveries, surgical responsibilities, inpatient rounding, or regularly scheduled nights and weekends, this role offers procedural autonomy, schedule stability, and opportunities for long-term professional growth.


Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient womenโ€™s healthcare, including well-woman examinations, acute visits, and family-planning services
  • Deliver evidence-based prenatal and postpartum care in an outpatient setting
  • Diagnose and manage common gynecologic and reproductive health concerns
  • Provide contraception counseling and perform LARC insertion and removal
  • Perform colposcopies, biopsies, and other appropriate in-office gynecologic procedures
  • Provide perimenopausal and menopausal care
  • Prescribe medications, contraceptives, and other treatments in accordance with Florida law
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic testing
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty care, additional testing, treatment, and follow-up
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation
  • Complete billing and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Collaborate with Womenโ€™s Health providers, nursing staff, medical assistants, and clinical leadership
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff and medical assistants
  • Participate in peer review, quality-improvement initiatives, and accreditation-readiness activities
  • Support the education and supervision of students, residents, and allied health professionals when assigned
  • Practice at multiple TFHC locations when operationally necessary
  • Participate in limited telephone or after-hours coverage when assigned
  • Comply with HIPAA, federal, state, accreditation, HRSA, and TFHC requirements

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active and unrestricted Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • National certification as a Womenโ€™s Health Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with substantial womenโ€™s health experience
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • At least two to three years of outpatient OB/GYN or womenโ€™s health experience required
  • Experience performing in-office gynecologic procedures strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-education skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
  • Experience with Epic or another electronic health record system preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred but not required

NHSC Student Loan Repayment

Tampa Family Health Centers operates National Health Service Corps-approved locations, and womenโ€™s health nurse practitioners are recognized as an eligible NHSC discipline.

Qualifying providers assigned to an eligible TFHC location may receive:

  • Up to $75,000 in federal student loan repayment for an initial two-year, full-time service commitment
  • A potential additional one-time award enhancement of up to $5,000 for qualifying providers who demonstrate Spanish-language proficiency
  • Potential continuation awards for additional service when qualifying educational debt remains
  • Federal loan-repayment funds that are exempt from federal income and employment taxes

NHSC loan repayment is separate from TFHC salary, productivity incentives, paid time off, retirement benefits, and insurance coverage.

Awards are administered directly by HRSA and depend on individual eligibility, qualifying educational debt, the assigned location and its HPSA status, available funding, and current program requirements.
