PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Automated Food Stamp Employment and Tracking project is an employment tracking system for food stamp clients. The system has to interface with WMS, POS, and NYCWAY to keep the transaction in sync. At the same time the employment assessment, timekeeping and scheduling component has to be built in this application for the vendors which are already known to NYCWAY. The FS Employment Project must have a backend process to extract the eligible cases for employment assessment by the vendor and has to be processed and the outcome has to be logged. Depending upon the business rules, the case will to be updated in WMS so that the case can be sanctioned or closed. The information on FSE will be shared with POS and NYCWAY via web services if needed. The position is needed for the implementation of streamlining enhancements requested by FIA due to the increased workload experienced over the past several months.
Tasks & Duties
• Develop, implement, and monitor information technology quality assurance standards.
• Provide general programming assistance to other MIS programmers/projects as needed. Also, have the ability to work independently with minimal assistant.
• Provide assistance to MIS technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves.
• Contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
• Perform System Design/Coding
• Work with MIS staff (managers, senior programmers, support staff, and product manager) to enhance the existing POS application. Write SQL queries in Oracle.
• Create, test and maintain existing application code. Performance tuning of SQL queries using different tools to make it efficient.
• Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms for the new and existing application.
• Perform Testing/Evaluation
• Test programs and systems and integrates system modules.
• Develop system test plan and uses cases to test the batch processes to cover all the test cases.
• Assist in system stress test. Perform volume testing and document the results.
Required Skills
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with writing application software using Power Builder, web technologies and Oracle. Perform data analysis and unit testing
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation using Oracle
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with technical and user documentation, software conversions
• Minimum 8 Years Exposure to environments include but are not limited to mainframe, windows, Unix, web development
• Minimum 8 Years Hands on development experience with web technologies, power builder application and fluent in writing SQL in Oracle
