Job description

JMT's Fort Washington Construction Management team is seeking a qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects within the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to construction activities on behalf of our clients (primarily PennDOT, PA Turnpike and other local agencies) for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g.

H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations. * Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes. * Makes field notes and computations * Gathers, reviews and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems) * Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities * Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills * Strong computer proficiency * Active driver's license and reliable motor vehicle * Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Required Experience * High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience) * 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience (Transportation preferred) Preferred Qualifications * Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management * Client Requested certifications (required to meet TCI-3 qualifications), including: * NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction * NECEPT-Bituminous Field Technician * PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite) * CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5 JMT Benefits JMT offers outstanding opportunities for career and professional growth.
