Job Duties

Responsibilities include: Assists in analysis, modification and design of reservoir description tools and their associated assembly and testing procedures for assigned projects which requires working knowledge of materials, components, and their applications. Prepares design calculations and specifications. Develops test procedures, conducts tests and completes test result analysis for assigned projects. Assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services. Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. The design, assembly and testing procedures are based on electronics engineering and sensor principles. The reservoir description tools that will be engineered are complex electro-mechanical assemblies that require in-depth understanding of PCB functionality and design, sensor technology and geological principles to be able to simulate well environments in a lab setting. Will test software to re-create well environments in a lab-setting, and to establish connectivity with various tools using Wireline cables.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Tech Prof-Mfg-related occupation. In lieu of the above, employer will accept 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Tech Prof-Mfg-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following: 

1.    Experience with analysis, modification and design of critical tools such as reservoir description tools that assist in wireline logging operations for formation evaluation. 
2.    Experience with soldering, wiring and mechanical assembly with the ability to use both low and high-temp solder for precision soldering, including soldering on printed circuit boards and soldering wires etc. 
3.    Experience interpreting, modifying and creating mechanical drawings and mechanical procedures that align with the drawings. 
4.    Experience conducting qualifying tests such as pressure, temperature, mechanical/electronic functionality, writing test procedures and designing test set-ups suitable for both surface testing and high-temp, high-pressure testing. 
5.    Experience using reliability, HSE and quality techniques during the design process. 
6.    Experience handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services as well as assisting with troubleshooting downhole tool failures.
