About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Network Engineering, the Senior Network Engineer monitors work requests, provisioning queues, and incident queues through a computerized tracking system. In this role, you will take ownership of incoming requests, collaborate with teammates, and help ensure that network and telecommunications services remain available, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.
What You'll Do
Monitor and manage incoming network engineering work, provisioning workflows, and incident requests.
Support and automate highly available network infrastructure across LAN and WAN environments.
Use scripting, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices to standardize and simplify network hardware and software deployment, configuration, and management.
Apply continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment practices to help ensure reliable, repeatable delivery of network and data solutions.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for telecommunications, wireless, and network-related issues.
Help ensure the security, integrity, and availability of telecommunications systems and data.
Coordinate with departments, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to support effective integration of telecommunications and network systems.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Follow Network Engineering services, policies, and procedures, and document work accurately in incident logs and status updates.
Take on other related support tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a telecommunications analyst, network engineering, or related role; health care experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with networking and internetworking devices and software, including support for large, mission-critical internetworks.
  • Valid wireless certification such as CCNA Wireless, CWNA, or ECSE.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is desirable.

Technical Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco wireless controllers and wireless access points.
  • Strong Wireless design and survey experience using Ekahau or similar software.
  • Strong 802.11 and RF knowledge, wireless troubleshooting skills, and experience with tools such as AirCheck or Sidekick.
  • Strong Experience with Cisco DNAC/CATC and fabric-based wireless technology.
  • Strong Knowledge of VoIP and wired/wireless QoS.
  • Experience managing wireless environments at a campus scale or larger.
  • Experience with Cisco Spaces, CMX, MSE, and RTLS.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting client endpoints in MDM and/or BYOD environments.
  • Knowledge of 802.1X protocol and integration with ISE or other AAA solutions.
  • Experience with Cisco 9800 series controllers and Wi-Fi 6 generation access points is desirable.
  • Packet analysis experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of wireless APIs and programmable interfaces, such as Python and NETCONF/YANG, is desirable.
