Job description

Description
Setup, program and control the Wire Electrical Discharge Machine. Maintain processes and work within the expected quality standards and efficiencies that are established for the EDM.
Responsibilities
  • Setup, program and operate the wire EDM properly.
  • Fabricate machinery parts and fixtures per given specifications.
  • Produce and deliver high quality medical implant and instrument components.
  • Inspect all machined parts and conduct QA activities.
  • Select and utilize a variety of inspection and measurement tools like gauges and micrometers.
  • Clean the wire EDM and perform preventive maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a clean work area to assure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory stock of tools and supplies as needed.
  • Set up and operate multiple Wire EDM (electrical discharge machining) machines
  • Utilize various measuring instruments to inspect in-process and completed work
  • Utilize measuring instruments to ensure quality conformance
  • Be an engaged participant in our ISO certified process committed to continuous improvement.
  • Consistently inspect and review first articles, as well as parts in process
  • Identify issues and work with peers to resolve issue and prevent recurrence
  • Achieve production goals on a daily basis
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Wire EDM equipment
  • Perform 2D Programming
  • Understanding and using measurement tools and equipment for inspections, such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Reading blue prints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications
  • Performing minor preventative maintenance and daily cleanup of machines and work areas
  • Comparing recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notify specified persons of discrepancies
  • Make decisions and judgments about proper course of action for repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain good safety and housekeeping practices
  • Promote teamwork and show a willingness to work with other departments.
  • Take initiative to find solutions quickly to problems that arise
  • Demonstrate good work planning practices in order to do jobs in a very timely, efficient and safe manner
  • Demonstrate self-motivation to continuously improve their job duties and tasks
  • Excellent attendance record and safety record
  • Uses CAD/CAM software (Espirit) to program details through EDM.

Requirements
  • High school or technical school diploma, milling experience is a plus, Basic wire and Basic g code. (G54 G00 X0,y,0) an equivalent combination of education and experience.
