Job description

Tool & Die Maker 

Summary

Seeking self motivated tool and die makers who are looking for a great career opportunity. Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, models or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tool and dies or assemblies. 

Full benefits and 401k available. Pay will depend upon experience. Drug test required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for disassembly, cleaning, component replacement, and preventative maintenance of cold header tooling
  • Maintains stock of components (various header tooling)
  • Must be able to make decisions and act independently
  • Work with engineering on tool design for new product development
  • Work with production, and engineering on continuous improvement projects pertaining to tool and die 
  • Work with cold heading operators to trouble shoot quality issues with parts or tooling
  • Setup and operate the following equipment: grinders, lathes, EDM, drill press, and mills
  • Perform other duties as required
  • CNC lathe and mill experience a plus but not a requirement
  • Wire EDM experience a plus but not a requirement

Experience/Technical Skills
 2 Years experience in Tool and Die, or 2 year technical degree preferred

  • Ability to read shop orders, drawings, sketches, specifications, formulas, and instructions
  • Advanced shop mathematics and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Punch press experience a plus
  • Ability to work with teams within a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High school graduate
  • Trade school
