Position Summary
This position is the first building block of our products. Wire Drawing feeds products throughout the departments manufactured to customer specification. This position will be trained on all wire drawing equipment in Insulated and Non-Insulated departments along with the respooling equipment in Tubing area.
Principal Responsibilities
• Operates and adjusts machine/equipment to SOP as trained. Follow shop packet instructions to set up machinery to manufacturer product to customer specifications and apply required labeling.
• Understands and uses measuring equipment, calipers, micrometers, rulers, test equipment, scales, counters die string set up and other gauging following prescribed procedures to meet high quality specifications.
• Inspect start up sample for proper diameter, resistance, concentricity, surface, and appearance.
• Quality Assurance: Adhere to QA procedures and requirements to ensure product quality and recognizes when to notify quality
• Reviews process documentation, makes corrections and signs off on production orders.
• String fine wire through die sequence and capstan.
• Safety and Housekeeping: Follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping practices, and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Environmental Compliance: Adhere to environmental policies and procedures.
Education / Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Basic math (addition, subtraction, and division) and assembly.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with GMP and QA procedures
• Ability to document and record process data accurately.
• Must have the ability to distinguish color and have good depth perception.
• Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment, and constant noise in the production/plant environment.
• Standing = Constantly - Sitting = Breaks Only
• Consistent lifting from .5 pound to 25 pounds necessary/Max = 30 lbs.
• Move 200-pound reels with the aid of material handling device
• Occasional use of stairs
• Must be able to reach, grasp, pull, push consistently
• Must be able to move spools with correct handling procedures consistently and regularly
• Fine motor skills required
• Awareness of safety protocols and environmental policies.
