Overview:

Vanderlande's Site Management Department manages the Installation and project execution of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortation systems for our customers throughout North America. The increasing number of new projects and their geographical spreadmeansthe team is growing and expanding. You will report hierarchically to the Production Manager, and daily manage the capacity and workflow of the panel shop. In this position, you will be working within the facility located in White Ga, and will interact with team members of Production and Manufacturing Engineering. You will directly oversee and report on the progress of one (or more) electrical subcontractor(s) working on small and complex projects, ensuring the electrical installation is performed safely whilemaintainingcompliance with quality standards, project specifications, and technical requirements.

Position Summary:

This position willbe responsible foroverseeing the daily operations of electrical subcontractors in a production style warehouse site, reporting of progress, and independently resolving and/or reporting of issuespertaining toelectrical project scope. In this position, you will be actively working and also responsible for managing the production of the work cell, also known as a working lead. You will confirm that all electrical duties adhere to detailed engineering drawings and resolve or escalate any discrepancies in the customer standards, provided drawings or other documentation. The Electrical Supervisoris responsible forsupervising the daily progress of the production schedule across all the electrical activities involved in the electrical panel shop portion of the operation. You are expected to be initiative-taking in reporting requirements, resolving and/or informing the Production Manager of any logistical, technical, or schedule issues, ensuring effective communication with all required parties regarding progress, out of scope work, non-conformities, and all other related issues. This role requires minimal travel, and it is expected to work at least 40 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours worked. This position includes computer, as well as training opportunities relevant to the position.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for directly supervising the safe installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, associated materials, and equipment within the project.
  • Responsible for the daily oversight of workforce headcount by activity, daily progresstrackingand reporting.
  • Directly responsiblefor providing information requested by Engineering, R&D or Production regardingscope and design.
  • Engages with 3rd party vendors to ensure adherence to the electrical installation requirements.

Coordinate with Production Management to ensure that all project milestones are tracked, and revisions are communicatedin a timely mannerto meet scope,budgetand project schedules.

  • Oversee the routing, sizing, and installation of conduit, wireways, boxes, cabling, and devices are installed in an acceptable manner to meet Vanderlande and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the electrical installation are installed per detailed engineering drawings, and that any redline updates are distributed to the Production Manager as well as the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Validate andmaintainall required turnover documentation from the electrical subcontractor(s). To include but not limited to area ready report, installation completion checks, pre-power checks, power on test reports, field wiring test reports,pre-commissioningchecks, and system/area turnover documentation.

Position Description:

Ensured all team members execute safe installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, associated materials, and equipment within the material handling industry.

Ensure that all wires and cables are installed,labelled, and connected as detailed in engineering drawings and schematics.

Ensure I/O checkout of completed systems match the engineering drawings.

Ensure all industrial networking is installed and certified asrequiredwithin the engineering detailed drawings.

Work with Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineering to find innovations and improvements to efficiency in project schedules.

Accountable for the on-site (White Ga facility) supervision of assigned electrical team members in a manner that ensures the completion of project activities within established schedule and quality standards. Must have the ability to evaluate progress against set goals.

Complete all assigned tasks within the required time constraints and quality standards

Assist with routine equipment trial runs to ensure that it meets specifications and ensure equipment is installed to Vanderlande and/or client standards.

Provideadditionalassistance with training pertaining to all of electrical installation of Vanderlande and 3rd party equipment for any new team members under your supervision.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Ability to accommodate minimal travel on short notice.

Must be willing to work 40 hours a week, and overtime when necessary.

Knowledge of conduit and containment routing and the ability to validateit'sinstallation.

Ability to read, understand, interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts.

  • Understanding AC/DC electrical theory.
  • Familiar with industrial control components such as relays, contactors, power supplies, terminal blocks, PLC I/O, circuit breakers and motor starters.
  • Experience using common electrical hand tools and test equipment. (multi-meter, wire strippers, crimpers, torque screwdrivers)
  • Preferred UL MTR or understanding of UL 508A.

Ability to troubleshoot complex control and motor wiring circuit problems

Exhibits leadership by example

3-5 years of experience assembling or wiring industrial electrical control panels.

Monitor and manage quality, time,costsand provision of information

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

OSHA 10 certification

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrates proper wire stripping, crimping, ferrule installation, and terminal termination techniques.
  • Understands wire sizing (AWG) and basic current-carrying capacity.
  • Able to identify common electrical symbols and schematics.
  • Understands the difference between line voltage and control voltage. (e.g. 480 VAC vs. 24 VDC)
  • Can troubleshoot simple wiring issues prints and a multi-meter.
  • Understands the importance of proper torque on electrical connections.
  • Maintain a clean, and organized operation while properly routing the wiring within the control panels.
  • Filling out panel inspection documents for traceability and quality.
  • Understanding the consequences of powered on testing with high voltage.
  • Understands LOTO, NFPA 70E, electrical PPE.

Preferred Qualification, Education, and Experience:

Working experience with material handling equipment.

Experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors.

Certified electrician.

  • Detailed knowledge and experience in a technical or specialty area.
