Registered Nurse – ER/Triage | Fremont, CA | Per Diem

Emergency nursing isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes clinical confidence, quick thinking, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to stay calm when the waiting room is anything but calm.

We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – ER/Triage to join a dedicated emergency care team in Fremont, CA. This is a great opportunity for an RN looking for Per Diem flexibility while making a meaningful impact where patients need skilled care most.

Job Details

  • Shifts: Day & Night Shift
  • Schedule: 2×12
  • Experience Required: 1 Year
  • Pay Rate: $73 to $75 per hour
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Conduct triage assessments and determine the appropriate priority level based on patient condition
  • Identify patients requiring immediate intervention and escalate care promptly
  • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other clinical indicators
  • Recognize signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, fluids, and other treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
  • Assist with emergency procedures and interventions as required
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Reassess patients regularly and communicate changes in condition to the appropriate clinical team
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies, rapid responses, and high-acuity situations
  • Follow infection prevention, medication safety, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
  • Support efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of emergency nursing care
  • Provide compassionate and culturally respectful care to patients and families during stressful situations
Qualifications
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department and/or Triage nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • PALS Certification preferred or required by facility
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, triage principles, patient assessment, and emergency interventions
  • Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients preferred
  • Strong understanding of emergency medication administration and IV therapy
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
