  • Implement systems using reliable, version-controlled Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC) methods.

  • Administer, maintain, and develop automation tools (e.g. CI/CD) to facilitate application development, deployment, and maintenance activities.

  • Define and monitor metrics for performance reporting and error detection.

  • Optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, and security.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud and DevOps methods.

  • Lead workshops and training sessions to share knowledge with the team.

Collaboration and Troubleshooting

  • Work closely with peers, Development, Network, Systems, and Security teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, fit-for-purpose systems.

  • Advocate for best practices (e.g. build/test/deploy, as-code, low/no-touch)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across cloud and on-premises environments.

Planning, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Contribute to team roadmap planning by understanding the needs and initiatives of development teams and other stakeholders.

  • Document and maintain procedures for system configurations and deployments.

  • Prepare reports on infrastructure performance, cost projections, and improvement plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in DevOps with engineering automated web environments.

  • Collaborative attitude, comfortable in both mentoring and learning roles, and not just open to critical feedback but eager for it.

  • Experience automating applications on public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).

  • Experience consuming on-premises virtualization solutions (e.g. Nutanix, VMware).

  • Experience using as-code infrastructure, image creation, server automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Docker, Packer, Ansible, PowerShell DSC).

  • Experience with software development lifecycle (e.g. git branch/merge strategies).

  • Experience configuring CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

  • Solid knowledge of cloud computing and networking principles and web hosting.

  • Solid knowledge of Linux, Windows, and containerization.

  • Willingness to obtain and maintain relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator Associate).
