PURPOSE
Under some direct supervision, the Window Service Technician is an intermediate-level position and is responsible for conducting troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and diagnostics for the window division. Performs duties under the direction of the Window Department Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Locates sources of problems using in-field observations, along with direction from builders and homeowners.
  • Carries out warranty repairs and adjustments tied to the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Work with their manager to ensure proper invoicing, manufacturer rebates, and job statuses are documented and executed.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Manage the window warranty area of the warehouse. Needs to control inventory in parts in the area.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of knowledge of window installation, operation, and service.
  • Valid driver's license

  • Comfortable working on ladders.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. Working outdoors will be a regular part of this role.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
